Ruth Believes every body is Seeking Wellness
I believe that we can unlock our full potential.
I believe that holistic healthcare can be a great adjunct to a successful life.
I believe that even long-standing or chronic issues can respond to treatment, and that encountering and changing the blocks to comfort and function can give you more energy for your entire life.
I take the time to get to know people, take a detailed history around diet, lifestyle and exercise, and am interested in how osteopathy can improve the immune system so that we are weller in winter, manage chronic pain, make early life more enjoyable.
Osteopathy respects Body, Mind & Spirit
Osteopathy (also called osteopathic medicine) relies on manual contact for diagnosis and treatment.
It respects the relationship of body, mind and spirit in health and disease; it lays emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body and the body's intrinsic tendency for self-healing.
I use my hands to diagnose and treat. This is a holistic, drug-free therapy, taking the body as a starting point but taking the whole person into account (and acknowledging that the change I make may be phsycial, but the change for you may be in how you feel or function).
We work on muscles, joints and ligaments, but are also aiming to affect the flow of blood, lymph and the health of the body’s neurological system.
We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. We aim to get to the root of a problem. Deep problems or patterns in the body can be amendable to treatment, once movement patterns are restored within tissues.
Osteopaths are well known for treating back/neck pain, but it works well on any areas of the body, and is suitable for all ages.

Cranial Osteopath - Subtle Support for All Stages of Life
Cranial Osteopathy is a treatment modality for the whole body. A treatment may feel warm or relaxing, while other people only notice the full effects when they get up from the table.
A treatment may involve a gentle specific pressure on not only on the head, but also the spine, tailbone, pelvis, ribcage or extremities.
This is a subtle therapy. We use a light tuned touch to listen to the body’s natural ‘involuntary motion’, which is the expression of cerebrospinal fluid through the body.
We feel where motion may be within muscles, joints, fascia, nervous and fluid systems, and then by contacting the area where it may be stuck, or absent, restore healthy motion and function.
I welcome people of all ages. I love to be involved I children’s lives, from pregnancy through birth and early milestones, but I have a commitment to family treatment and the belief that an improved health of one will affect our entire community.
